Saline Breast Implants
Saline-filled breast implants have a silicone rubber shell that is inflated to the preferred size with a sterile saline solution. Because Saline implants are filled after insertion they may be placed through very tiny incisions, either from around the areola, from under the breast or from the armpit.
There are two types of saline-filled implants: a fixed volume implant, which is filled entirely of saline when implanted and an adjustable volume implant, which is filled intraoperatively with the potential for further adjustment after the procedure.
